The Coolidge Scholarship Program 2019

The Coolidge Scholars Program is a program of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation, which is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit based in Plymouth Notch, Vt., and the President’s birthplace.

The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, non-partisan, need-blind, presidential program awarded annually, it covers the recipient  student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study of any academic discipline at any accredited American college or university.

Students are required to apply for the Coolidge Scholarship during their junior year of high school. Finalists are flown in for a finalist weekend at the Coolidge Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont where they get interviewed by the Coolidge Scholars Finalist Jury.

Recipients of the Coolidge Scholarship are notified of their award late in their junior year, before college application. Finalists who are not listed as Coolidge Scholars are eligible to receive a smaller, one-time, college scholarship.

The main criterion that distinguishes Coolidge Scholars therefore is academic excellence and demonstrated interest in public policy, humility and service. The summer before their senior year of high school, newly-selected Coolidge Scholars spend several orientation days at the picturesque birthplace of the President, Plymouth Notch, Vt.

The scholars get to know Coolidge and help the Coolidge Foundation oversee its formidable debate programs. The scholars are to return to Plymouth Notch for a week in each of the next three summers.

The top Coolidge applicants are named “Coolidge Senators.” In the summer, the Coolidge Foundation invites Coolidge Senators to the Senators Summit in Washington, D.C.  At the Summit, the Senators explore the nation’s capital, learn about President Coolidge, and meet other high achieving students from across the country.

The Coolidge Scholars Program is operated by the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation.

The Coolidge Scholarship is the most generous college scholarship in the world. As a program of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation, it  is America’s “unconditional” merit scholarship [granted regardless of geographic location, race, family background and income, area of study or university to be attended] is open for only high school juniors who  enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university for the first time in fall 2018.

The Coolidge Foundation, established in 1960 by John Coolidge, the president’s son, along with a group of fellow Coolidge enthusiasts. It is the officially dedicated to preserving the legacy and promoting the values of America’s 30th president.

The Foundation was formed in 1960 Coolidge Scholarship Program. The Coolidge Scholarship may be used at any accredited American college or university where the student gains admittance; Coolidge Scholars are named prior to university application.

The Coolidge Foundation anticipates awarding two or three new Coolidge Scholarships from applications received in the 2019 application cycle.

Students must apply directly to the university or universities they seek to attend. Receiving the Coolidge Scholarship is conditional upon gaining admittance to an accredited college or university in the U.S.

The 2019 application cycle will mark the fourth year of the Coolidge Scholarship. A Coolidge Scholarship covers a student’s full tuition, room and board, and annual stipend for books and supplies.

The competition for the Coolidge Scholarship is indeed significant, as the Coolidge Foundation invites the top 100 applicants to participate in its Coolidge Senators Program which includes an all-expenses-paid Summit Weekend in Washington, D.C and a one-time $1,000 scholarship.
