HELENA– Montana Grizzly coaches and administrators continue making rounds across the Treasure State this spring, with the Grizzly Scholarship Association tour making its yearly drop in Helena on Thursday.Dozens of boosters, fans and former coaches and athletes collected at Bill Roberts Municipal Golf Course Thursday early morning. It’s the 11th stop on the tour, which began in Bigfork in early Might and concludes next weekend in Missoula. One of the greatest draws this spring is football coach Bobby Hauck’s go back to the Griz, and he states the enthusiasm and energy of this spring trip is even larger and better than his first go-round.
“Yeah, if not surpassing it,” Hauck said of his expectations throughout the spring tour. “People have actually been terrific. Everybody is fired up, it generates enthusiasm in our coaching staff so they can see how it is in Montana, how enthusiastic individuals are. I believe all great the last few weeks.”
“Everybody is truly fired up, undoubtedly, with Bobby returning. That’s led to terrific participation this year on the tour,” said UM women’s basketball coach Shannon Schweyen. “Guys’s basketball came off an incredible year, we have a great deal of Montana kids on our (women’s basketball) roster, as do a lot of our programs. It seems like all over we go there are some excellent fans following.”
The GSA stop in Helena likewise included a banquet supper at the Lewis & & Clark Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall. The spring trip continues Friday in Butte for another golf scramble. The Grizzly Scholarship Association makes its last spring drops in Hamilton and Missoula on June 6 and 8, respectively.
