“if Gloria was sleeping why should they disturb her? Instead, we should prepare a surprise for her before she wakes up!”
My little naïve mind thought. I scanned the room and noticed people pulling her mom away from her, I could not hear what her mom said but I read her lips
“is she not too young to die, why?”
“What sort of a statement is this?
When I thought it couldn’t get worse I heard her mom wail “Gloria was committing suicide the best option??!”
“suicide?!?”
I tried looking as Gloria’s mum held unto the garment of the person close to her frantically
“I wasn’t there for my daughter!”
“I am done for!”
“I am a bad mother…. Now she is dead, I wasn’t there for her!” Gloria’s mum wailed heavily
Then it dawned on me that Gloria wasn’t just sleeping as I thought, she was dead! My legs suddenly gave way, feeling weak and feverish, I can’t remember if I fell because my hands were aching or because of the sudden realization, it didn’t matter as I quickly crawled back to my room just in time to hear my mother ask after me “hope she did not leave the house?” there was no use, I already left.
What scared me most was “I think I was the only one who knew why Gloria had committed suicide!”
