Education, a way of bridging the gender gap.

Girls’ Education Matters

Many girls in society have the mentality that they cannot amount to anything. They have the mindset that the world belongs to only men.

Many girls have been married off to men all because of the wrong mindset of their parents. Some believe that girls are tools that are only meant to be used as a means of getting money. This mentality has caused a lot of girls to end up as school drop-outs or stark illiterates.

According to research, women make up more than two-thirds of the world’s population of illiterate people. This wouldn’t have happened if parents and girls have enough knowledge of the facts that daughters are not just given birth to, to be cash cows, or only to become wives and mothers. They can be whatever they want to be in society.

Even though women all over the world have been breaking barriers and doing what society thought they cannot do, there is still a long way to go in making girls important and giving them the position they deserve in society.

One way this can be achieved is by the acquisition of knowledge and proper enlightenment of girls all over the world on their potentials and the roles they have to play in making the world a better place.

Parents have to be enlightened on the fact that girls are not only meant to be a means to get money and be sold off as wives. They can also become a strong voice in society, breaking barriers and limitations.

This can only happen if they are properly enlightened, educated, and informed that girls are humans and they have every right to be educated and to become all they want to be. This will go a long way in bridging the gender equality gap.
